Hello everyone;
welcome back to another exciting year at NIU! I hope that everyone had an
enjoyable summer break and that you are all ready for the fall semester to
begin.
The
NIU Huskie Line bus system is one of the largest transit systems in the state
and also represents one of the largest student-run systems in the country. I am
privileged to serve
Northern
Illinois University and
the surrounding community as the Director of Mass Transit for another year.
Due
to the fact that the bus system is student-run, the students of NIU should have
their voices heard when it comes to routes and stops. This year, student input
will be of the utmost importance. We will hold open forums across campus at
several locations throughout the year. Feedback tables will be set up in
academic buildings as well as in residence halls. Also, I will be visiting many
student organizations to gauge the student’s opinions. Surveys will be available
online at www.niu.edu/sa.
With
that being said, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns throughout the
year feel free to contact me at (815)-753-0308. Furthermore, if any student
group, or area of the community, would like to voice their opinions or concerns;
set up a time when I can come to your group and I will be happy to answer any
questions you may have.
With
the information I collect this year I know we can create a system which provides
outstanding service to all students and community members. Good luck to you all
in the upcoming semesters and enjoy your year here at NIU.
Sincerely,

Josh Venaas
Director of Mass Transit
